Holy Cross became part of CAST Multi-Academy trust on 1st April 2014. 

Plymouth CAST’s organisation is designed to reflect Catholic social teaching within its policies and structures, not just within its curriculum offer.

A new scheme of delegation is changing the way we work as the Multi-Academy Trust serves all our schools. We look to share our Vision and Values with you.

The formation of CAST does not represent a change in direction for the schools. As Catholic schools, our fundamental mission has always derived from the wider mission of the Catholic Church and the particular emphases of the diocesan Bishop. However, it was decided that changing our legal structure from multiple, autonomous Voluntary Aided schools into a single corporate legal entity would enhance our capacity to fulfill our shared mission. 

Consistent with the purpose the most important elements within CAST’s structure are the schools themselves. There are 36 schools within CAST, each with a local governing body with a delegated budget and delegated powers to allow it to operate as the local ‘steward’ of overall mission. The Board of Directors oversees all our schools and holds us to account to ensure we are providing the very best both in terms of education and mission.
