Message from the Head of Learning

Welcome back after what we hope has been a lovely Easter break. Thank you for sending the children back to school smartly dressed and ready to learn. The teaching teams have been busy planning a wealth of learning experiences - the children have plenty to look forward to. Please look out for the summer term curriculum newsletters for more information.

Unfortunately, we received some very sad news over the holiday. Brian Coyte, Mrs Coyte’s husband, has passed away following an illness. Please keep Mrs Coyte and her family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time.

Key Stage 1 classes enjoyed a fantastic day at Newquay Zoo earlier this week. What a wonderful start to their 'Sensational Safari' topic. The children looked for animals from the continent of Africa to help them with research for the fact files that they are producing back in class.

Congratulations to Ursule who is a runner up in Radio Plymouth’s ‘Design a scarecrow’ competition. She has won £50 in gift vouchers so we can ‘get growing this summer’ at Otter Garden Centre in Brixton. Her name was called out on Radio Plymouth this week. Well done, Ursule!

The next parent forum meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 2nd May at 8.00am. All members of the parent/carer community are invited, and people are encouraged to put forward items for the agenda prior to the meeting. Children whose parents attend will qualify for a free breakfast at our breakfast club - your child will be well looked after whilst you have the opportunity to tell us your views and offer your suggestions. Please book in the school office.

Please keep in your prayers the children who are preparing to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. Please join the children and their families for First Holy Communion Mass at the Cathedral at 10am on Sunday 6th May.

Finally, this is one of the busiest terms of the year. Please refer to the diary dates to ensure you are fully informed about the events leading up to the end of the year. We have several Masses arranged which we hope you will be able to join us for.

Have a lovely weekend.
