PE @ Holy Cross

This week in pictures
Have a look at some of the fantastic sporting achievements we have made this week! Way to go everyone!
At Holy Cross we are working hard to make PE something that every child can be proud of and give a go. We are very lucky to have so many keen, active and talented children in our school and we want to give them the chance to share and develop these skills even further.
Mr Driscoll is our PE Leader.  If you would like to find out more or have any requests or suggestions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
We did it again!
We have been awarded the Gold School Games mark for our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive sport in 2017/2018! The third year in a row!
Our thanks to all the children, staff and parents who helped us with this incredible achievement!
Our Holy Cross School Sports Ambassadors!
We love to be active, in all different ways! Some of us love team sports, others love walking and others love individual challenges.
Come and see us if you have any suggestions for PE in our school.
Journey to Bethlehem Challenge
We got a lovely mention in the Active School Travel Plymouth Winter Newsletter for our contribution to the Journey to Bethlehem Challenge last term. We had 42 children complete our challenge to ride, walk or scoot to school. Well done to all those who completed the challenge!
Level 2 Event - KS1 Multiskills Festival, Notre Dame School
We managed to take all 90 of our KS1 children to Notre Dame to take part in their first Level 2 event of the year. The children took part in a range of activities that tested their throwing, running and coordination skills. Our thanks to the Notre Dame Ambassadors who led the event so well. Well done to our teams who managed a clean sweep, taking the top 6 places! Great effort everyone!
Level 2 Event - Hockey, Marjons
A huge congratulations to our medal winning Year 6 hockey team. The children managed to finish in a well deserved third place in their pool, earning themselves a bronze medal. The children all worked incredibly hard and came together as a team to beat some excellent opponents. Well done!
National Fitness Day @ Holy Cross
We had a great day celebrating and raising the profile of fitness in Holy Cross School. The children took part in a variety of sports and activities throughout the day. Have a look at the picture below to see some of the things we got up to! Not even the bad weather could stop us!
Level 2 Event - Go Ride, Heles School
Well done to George, Sofia, Oliver and Léa who have taken part in our first Level 2 event of the year - Go Ride. The children had to take it in turns to cycle around a grueling mountain bike course building up points for each lap completed. The event report will be coming soon! Our thanks to Hele's School and the PSSP for hosting and organising this event.
Level 2 Event - Indoor Athletics, Notre Dame School
A great performance from our KS2 Athletes. They performed with true grit and determination to compete in our third level 2 event of the year. They children took part in various events including spring board running, relays, throwing and jumping competitions. Our thanks once again to Notre Dame and the Plymouth Schools Sports Partnership for organising this event.
