In the second half term of Autumn, our topic will be The UK. We will be covering: capital cities of the countries of the UK; naming the seas surrounding the UK and the UK’s main rivers; finding areas of higher ground on a map of the UK; explaining who first settled in London and describing population; identifying where some immigrants to the UK came from and identifying similarities and differences between our daily routines and that of a child from another historical period. In English, we will be looking at scary stories focusing on lighthouses. For our mathematics learning, our lessons are based around generalising arithmetic, exploring shape and using reasoning when handling measures. Science is focused on light and we will be planning a visit to Smeaton’s Tower. In computing we will look at drawing and desktop publishing. During this half term, our RE will focus on Sacraments, Advent and Christmas.
