In this first half term, our topic is Romans. In this topic we will work on: describing when the Romans conquered Britain; recalling some facts about the Romanisation of Britain and using a variety of sources of evidence to appreciate how an accurate picture of the past can be constructed. At the end of the half term, we are hoping to host a Roman day where the children can come in dressed as a Roman. In English, we will look at the story Romulus and Remus and maths will focus on place value. Our science lessons are based around forces and magnets. For our design and technology learning, we will be designing and making a Roman chariot and we will cover ‘All around Town’ in our French lessons. Our RE work will start with Creation and be followed by Prayers, Saints and Feasts.
