Home Learning
We recognise that Parents are the first educators of their children and as such must be fully involved in the learning process. Children learn best when home and school work together. To support this process we ask that parents support their child with the following homework tasks.
Reading:
Children will have 2 reading books each week - books will not change every day as previously done. They are expected to read each book more than once to increase fluency and comprehension. Please support your child by listening to them read every day. Please record when your child reads in their home-school record book. Don’t forget to read to your child too!
Spelling:
Children will receive spellings at the beginning of the week. Please learn one spelling each night to help embed their understanding.
Maths
A maths sheet will come home at the beginning of each week. The sheet will have an optional challenge for those who wish to continue with their learning. Please return it by the end of the week to be marked.
‘Times Table Rockstars’
Your child has already been given a ‘Times Table Rockstar’ login. Please use this to support your child in learning their 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
‘Numbots’
The newly developed ‘Numbots’ has been written by the developers of ‘Times Table Rocks Stars‘. ‘Numbots’ focuses on addition and subtraction number fluency. Once this new website is up and running we will let you know.
Both these websites are great fun and highly motivational. The apps can be easily downloaded onto your phones and ipads for easy access - please come to see us if you need support with this.
